Crow Creek Golf Club: Calabash Jewel
Located just over the border between the Carolinas in Calabash, North Carolina, Crow Creek Golf Club is one of the top golf courses on the northern end of the 60-mile Grand Strand. It is the work of Rick Robbins, a former design associate for Dick Wilson and, later, Jack Nicklaus. Robbins currently serves as the president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA). Open since 2000, the course has stood the test of time and developed a following that includes not only thousands of annual vacationing golfers but a group of local residents who take fierce pride in the course’s design and conditioning. Its L-93 bentgrass greens run fast and smooth, reminding many residents and visitors who hail from Canada and the northeastern United States of their own home courses.
